One of the user is unable to reset his password for an AIX resource through IdM. he is recieving the below error.
com.waveset.util.WavesetException: An error occured modifying the user "****" on resource "XXX"
com.waveset.util.WavesetException: Script failed waiting for "' SPASSWORD:" in response. Error changing user "****". You do not have permission. Script processor timedout with nothing to read and the following unprocessed text.
The user is able to reset his Password through "Putty", but not through IdM. We had suspected that the user's XMl file might be corrupted and hence, removed the resource instance from the file, unassigned the resource instance and reassigned it back. But still its not working:(. This problem is only for this user!
Can anyone suggest a solution for this?
Using the credentials that SIM uses to communicate with AIX are you able to login to AIX natively and change the users password.
This will allow you to isolate the issue and determine if the problem resides in AIX (eg permissions) or in SIM.
Hope this helps
SIM uses the credentials you have set on the Resource Parameters page to reset the users password on thier behalf. Therefore the SIM resource credentials must have the appropriate permissions to reset a users password.
To test the to see if there is a permissions issue please use the resource credentials that SIM uses to communicate with AIX and login to AIX natively and attempt to change the users password.
