I want to install two databases in two machines with same sids(database name) and then replicate data between them. Generally Replication is done with two different database sids. Is possible to that with same sids or database names?
Thanks kuljeet.I previously did schema replication and it was not worked with same database names. But i don't have clear idea on other replication types. what I want is to replicate data between two servers with same name.
yes, you can have two databases with the same name as long as they have different global_name. you can change the global_name to be different from your database name. it's not recommended but doable and you'll need to have a service name match the global_name and create dblink having that name and the service_name.
