    Application's not opening

    596400
      Hi,
I have installed 11.1.2 on win 2003 but I am unable to open any thing like worspace, shared service etc.
Whenever I tried to access URL's - standard internet explore message come up "page not found".

I checked weblogic and can see it's working. I also checked diagnostic and can see all applications deployed configured successfully.

Note - I am using oracle virtual box on my laptop.

Is there anything else which I need to check.

      Thanks,

try running workspace from the launch workspace icon in programs-oracle epm-foundation..

Thanks for response. I tried it and end up with similar error message.
I can;t see anything wrong in application diagnostic as well.

Please can you advice which log can help me to find the root cause?

Are you sure there are no errors in the logs in the diagnostics\logs\services directory.
              What URL's are you using.

              Cheers

It sounds like there is a problem with your web server Are you deployed using Oracle's HTTP server or IIS? Which link are you using to access workspace?

Perhaps your web server isn't running?

                  Hi Pete / John,
I am using http://<mahinname>:9000/workspace to access workspace.
I remember, I installed IIS to enable EPMA.
I checked logs in service directory and noticed below message...

That is an issue with Reporting and Analysis agent not running or there is a problem with it.
                    Is the RAF service started?

But saying that it shouldn't stop workspace being shown, can you log into shared services directly http://localhost:9000/interop/index.jsp < I assume you have deployed to one managed server hence the default port 9000
Also what browser and version are you using.

                    Cheers

                      Hi John,
I checked on shared service but it's not working. It returned with similar error msg as worksapce.
                      I am on IE 6.

                      Thanks,

11.1.2.2 does not support IE6, also check the logs <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>\user_projects\epmsystem1\diagnostics\logs\services HyS9EPMServer-sysout.log & HyS9EPMServer-syserr.log if you have deployed all the web apps to one managed server.

                        Cheers

I've got to believe it's an issue with the web server. Did you run the configuration step to Configure Web Server? If so, did you choose Oracle HTTP Server (the default option) or choose IIS? Just because IIS is required for EPMA does not mean you are using it for your web server.

If you've deployed your web applications on IIS you should see them under the Default website in IIS manager, is that the case?

If this is 11.1.2.2 and not a mistake with the port then - http://localhost:9000/interop/index.jsp would not be using the http server, ok not strictly true if the newly introduced weblogic embedded http server was configured and not ohs.
I am assuming that all web applications were deployed to one managed server which is a default port of 9000, not to be confused with the OHS default port of 19000 which I am sure Oracle made similar for confusion. If ohs is being used then try connecting on port 19000

If this is not 11.1.2.2 or it is 11.1.2.2 and the web apps have not been to deployed to one managed server then testing shared services should be by http://localhost:28080/interop/index.jsp
This would bypass the http server for testing.

Maybe the Op can confirm how he has configured the system and the exact version he has installed, maybe he has just got confused and is using the wrong port or not configured correctly.

                            Cheers

You're right John. I made 2 assumptions that should be clarified by the user.

User states version is 11.1.2. User, can you be more specific, is this 11.1.2.1 or 11.1.2.2?
User states port 9000, I assumed a typo for port 19000. User can you clarify?

Above all else I agree a test of Shared Services at port 28080 will certainly narrow down the problem.

                              Thanks,
                              Pete

                                HI Pete / John,
I am on 11.1.2.2 and I checked Shared Service URL on port 9000. I believe, I configired it on http server and not on iis via configurator.
Please can you advice which log can put me in right direction.
                                Thanks

Right so it is 11.1.2.2, now did you deploy all products to one managed server
                                  e.g. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vhvxHXJ6C18/T4Wa0iSeW8I/AAAAAAAAEfg/v7ktkUIqmug/s1600/image023.png

If you did the shared services should be running on port 9000 so
                                  http://localhost:9000/interop/index.jsp
otherwise it will be running on port 28080
                                  http://localhost:28080/interop/index.jsp

                                  Remember IE6 is not supported

                                  Logs will be under <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/user_projects/<instancename>/diagnostics/logs/services
                                  or <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/user_projects/domains/EPMSystem/servers/EPMServer0/logs

                                  Cheers
