How to cancel a running search

Is it possible to cancel a running search? Sometimes a search may take a long time to complete and may be the user would like to cancel the search. When the user uses the quick search I display a popup to prohibit user input based on the documentation here:

[DF Code Corner: How-to show a glasspane and splash screen for long running queries|]

Now, I am considering to put a cancel button in the popup and cancel the search when the button is clicked. How could I do that if it is possible.

I am using JDev and JHs

this is really an ADF issue, not JHeadstart. I think there's not much you can do beyond setting timeout parameters on your view objects ( ), but you might get better answers on the ADF forum.
