I'm not sure about iwi, I searched online and thought I could have internet by installing iwi drive. My laptop is T61 6465CTO. I don't know about the detail of my chipset very much. But can you tell me what should I do to have internet in either case?
I actually had solaris 11. But since I want to install oracle database 11g, I had to delete my solaris 11 and install solaris 10. Bacause I believe 11g 22.214.171.124 only supports solaris 10, and since I don't have a support account, I couldn't get 126.96.36.199.
I noticed some post online using iwi-0.3 and wificonfig to have wireless access on laptop. My problem is I coun't go to the link http://opensolaris.org/os/community/laptop/downloads to download, it seems all links for these tools are dead. Do you have any idea where I can get these download? Thanks!
I'm using wpi right now with Solaris 11 release. I did use a different adapter - I think it was Netgear something with Solaris 10 and cardbus drivers from the OpenSolaris wifi page. If that page is down then you pretty have no choice but to use 11.
Thank you for the info. I am thinking if my wireless doesn't work, can I use cable to connect to internet? Since I dont want to reinstall the os ... Do you have any idea how can i connect to internet with cable? In windows, i simply plug in the cable and i will have internet. i dont know what settings i need to do for solaris.
I did ifconfig -a, and i see lo0 and e1000g0. But i dont know what to do next ...
