Custom authentication is apparently a new feature available since 220.127.116.11.0. I have seen XML DB custom authentication mentioned in few Oracle presentations (see links below), but I am unable to find detailed documentation on how to implement this. In fact, a number of the procedures they make use of in the presentations appear to be undocumented. For instance DBMS_XDBZ.SET_APPLICATION_PRINCIPAL. Can you please point me to the documentation for implementing XML DB custom authentication?

Maybe the following will help. I have set it online as long as it is allowed by Dropbox (as far as I know they will alter their policy regarding public links) and/or by Mark Drake. Be aware of the second slide... Officially there is no documentation for this yet...
Introduction to XML DB Custom Authentication.pdf (http://db.tt/WFpPI1C2)
Ah sorry. I didn't know that this stuff was already online. My pdf is a section out of the "leveraging the full..." so not much extra help there, or at least, that is as much as I can say about it for now ...
