As an addendum:
I do have JDK 1.5+ instances so I am trying to see if this will work...
Can this be done? On the WLS class, on launching the JRMC, there is an option to select/monitor the JDK 1.5+ instances...
thanks and sorry of this is a somewhat rhetorical question
We cannot use JRMC to monitor non-jrockit instances.
1). Do I need to start the Remote management agent on the target?
i tried this:
is this supposed to be the output?
I am going to BEA edocs and cannot pull it up
In order to use jmrc,You need to start ur JVM using Oracle Jrockit
If you starting your JVM with Sun jdk, you wont be able to monitor your instance using jmrc
Difference between both Both jdk and Oracle Jrockit can be found in below link

Once you switch to Oracle Jrockit, the below link would be helpful for Using JMRC remotely
