have you verified the SearchBase defined in OAM while installing. It may be incorrect. if so, reinstall oam with valid search base
where and when do you define search base?
You said you registered your first OHS web agent with OAM.
Did you face any connectivity issues while registering?
Was your webgate install successful?
Were you able to restart OHS during web agent registration after modifying the httpd.conf file? if it is failing at this step,
See if you can access OAM server's Node Manager port (default is 5575) from your OHS server.
I tried from the browser to access 5575 but no success. How I can make sure service are running on this port? If I got to system configuration I can see this port is configure as a proxy port on oamconsole.
BTW: I have don in-band bode registration and no errors or issue during registration or during install. I copied two files from output folder to ohs and re-strated the ohs with no issue.

What is OS? Version of OAM, OHS, WebGate?
