I was able to migrate artifacts from 931.x to 184.108.40.206 succesfully. (this was a production9 tot test11 system)
Now I have installed a 220.127.116.11 environment and things start to differ.
Migration is not workring as expected.
The import to 18.104.22.168 complain with several lines:
Warning in migrating artifact, "/Repository Objects/".
EPMLCM-37038: Cannot perform migration. Unable to find artifact folder - REPORTMART in the source application.
it does so for every selected folder to import.
It seems to me that the 11 import technically expacts the real folder names while 22.214.171.124 and before was able to import the structure/ foldernames like 0000012a and 000 and 00000.
Has anyone come across this an knows how to tackle it?
Your help would be very much welcome.
LCM should not be used to upgrade between different versions, it is only for migration between different environments in the same version.
Refer: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_install_1112200.pdf for upgrading from 126.96.36.199 to 188.8.131.52.
thanks for your response.
I know the answer your giving is the theoretical answer oracle support would give me. On the other hand I used this tool succesfully to migrate/ copy IR artifacts from 931 to 184.108.40.206. So I am almost convinced it is possible to use for 220.127.116.11 too.
It looks like Orace likes to keep the real background knowledge of these utilities for it self. There is very very little information on the tool in the manuals. Which I am ure of I read them all. When a little part of the alcm changes the general public has to find solutions our self. Thats why I asked the forumpopulation to help me with it.
solved it by few extra steps.
installed quick and dirty hss/ir/raf environment 18.104.22.168 (as a migration server)
export 931 IR and WA via ALCM to files
xcopy files to 22.214.171.124 server
import via ALCM 126.96.36.199
check in webtier
export via HSS/Foundation WebUserInterface to files
xcopy to 188.8.131.52 server
import via HSS/Foundation WebUserInterface from files
