apex, 11g xe report printing error

    950914
      Hi,
Just started learning apex. installed 11g xe(32 bit) on windows 7(64 bit) (having problems). Is there any after installation configuration required?. I m using a pdf printer on my laptop(for converting doc,ps etc.).I m not able to configure it for apex (nor the xps printer). I want to know how reports will look(if using print from browser getting lots of unwanted things). I think simple pdf printing is possible from apex(xe). Added a tcpip port to xps printer(to make localhost as print server), and used it in config. Geting error
      report error:
ORA-20001: The printing engine could not be reached because either the URL specified is incorrect or a proxy URL needs to be specified.

      How to sort it out.

          Hi,

I think you can not use xps printer. You need BI Publisher or similar printing server.
It means you need separate configuration.

          See this
          http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/application-express/configure-printing-093060.html

You can also search from Google other solutions like create PDF using PL/SQL.

If you like just use browser printing option, then you might like view pages first in printer friendly mode

              Hi,

What you mean by "standard local printing"?

Here is APEX administrator guide how configure Report Printing
              http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21678/adm_mg_service_set.htm#sthref273

It doesn't mean that you can configure APEX to use printer.
