Sun One Directory Server is not a LDAP client but a server for this protocol.
If you want to upgrade the client then look directly on operating system side.
This post was originally placed into the Sun Servers forum.
That is a HARDWARE discussioon forum.
You don't have a hardware question.
It has now been relocated to the Directory Server forum, hopefully for closer topic alignment.
Thanks for your answer. I am new to LDAP, but as far as know SunOne Directory server is nothing but just a simple package which we can install on any Sun Solaris server and make it a Directory Server. I just want to know that where can I download SunOne Dir. Server setup (like in Windows) or it's Package (as in Solaris) ?
Do you actually want the server package or just a client? If you want the server package, Sun One Directory server 5.2 is like almost 10 years old and out of support. You should really be looking at the newer version. Look for DSEE 7.0 or the rebranded ODSEE 11GR1. If you are looking for a client, any LDAP V3 compliant client will work and one is bundled with Solaris by default anyway, ie look for commands like ldapsearch, ldapmodify, etc... If you want a GUI, there are plenty around as well, eg JXplorer, Apache DS Studio, etc...
I have got it. Fyi here:
- Login to: https://edelivery.oracle.com
- Select following:
Select a Product Pack: Sun Platform
Platform: Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)
- Select "*Sun Products Media Pack for Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)*" and "*continue*".
- Now you can download your required product of SunONE Dir. server.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
