Would someone explain what 'VALUE' is int <table_alias>.VALUE ?

      Greetings,

I've come across the following in some legacy code ...

      NVL( <table_alias>.VALUE, <replace_with>).

I'm not familiar with '<table_alias>.VALUE'. I thought it was a pseudo column but that was a dead end.

The actual values in the function call are as follows : NVL (nmdffp.VALUE, 'Disabled')

If <table_alias>.VALUE is not null the return value is 'Enabled', if true, 'Disabled'. The odd part is that 'Enabled' is not a value in any of the columns in the table.

      Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

      Thank you.
