    jdk-7u3-windows-x64 installation issues

    925349
      Hi,

I've just download the jdk-7u3-windows-x64.exe and jdk-6u30-windows-x64.exe and tried install them on my window 7 professional service pack 1 platform, but both installations failed with the error message "...\jdk-7u3-windows-x64.exe is not a valid win32 application" and "...\jdk-7u3-windows-x64.exe is not a valid win32 application". However, when I install with the jdk-6u26-windows-x64.exe and jdk-7-windows-x64.exe, it's fine. Please help me how to fix the issue to update the new java package.

I just cannot believe that. Windows is telling you "I'm 32 bits, stop installing 64 bits stuff". The installers you claim are "fine" should also have failed.

So basically what you have is a 64 bits Windows installation that is moaning about executables not being 32 bits applications - the only reason you ended up here is that they happened to be JDK installers. Do you have another computer that you can try this on and see if you can reproduce it? If you cannot, then there is little to be gained by hanging around here - then its time to take that machine to the service center near you.

Hi,Thank you everybody, now I find what the problem was. It's quite simple: I downloaded a JDK package from your web site, but it was a broken file, and however, it seems like a normal exe file, with the java coffee ico and so on, but its size is just 78.4MB. Now I download the installation package again, using some check tool, and now the package is complete and its size is 87.4MB, then everything is fine. I'm careless, and the problem hasn't occurred before, it lead me always to believe the package is complete, but it's wrong.

                    THIS

I have no idea why, but the first time I downloaded, the file size was only 79.6MB out of 92.4MB. Downloading it again gave me a full file which installs correctly.
