We are working in Oracle configurator in R11i (11.5.10). We have developed a new configurator model in our build instance and now we are want to move this model to production instance. Is there any way to verify (is there any tool or script) that model has successfully manually migrated to other instance?
We need to migrate model manually as automatic model migration functionality in not available in 11i (it is only available in R12). Since this model is big in size, manual verification is not a good idea. We also want to be sure that we did not miss any rule, structure, properties or UI component in manual migration.
There is a possibility to generate the Model Report in the XML format, (I don't exactly remember the flag / setting) that you may put in as config parameters in the preferences window. The file is typically generate in the Apps server.
This again does not provide the UI elements, but covers the structure and rules as in the model report.
Once the 2 XML from both instances are available, the comparison is possible. This is not the cleanest of ways, but probably is the only way (I know of) with development.
All the best. Please share your ideas whenever you find one for 11i.
Thanks Piyush for the useful information. If we come to know the concurrent program name that runs for the model report, I think we will be able to generate the model report in XML format.
While exploring about this, I come to know about a tool (Little modification on the existing model report concurrent program):
