I had Oracle 11g enterprise edition installed on my allocated PC.
For access of tool like CA Clarity we use Oracle database.CA Clarity tool should have a character set set to AL32UTF8, but was configured on my PC to WE8MSWIN1252(may be at installation).
My goal is to change the characterset to AL32UTF8. Can I change it by migration process.
Suggest me the best approach if possible.
Pl identify exact version of "11g" and OS on your PC.
You can use the DMU tool to migrate the database to the new characterset.
If the database is "empty", simply drop the database and re-create it with the AL32UTF8 characterset.
If the database is small or does not contain much data, perform a full export using expdp, drop the database, re-create the database with AL32UTF8 characterset and perform full import.
We have a database on 10.2.0.4 and want to change the character set from WE8ISO8859P1 to AL32UTF8. Can you kindly suggest the impact of doing so and the document having steps for the same.
Thanks in advance.

The process steps to migrate to AL32UTF8 are documented - pl see
An alternative would be to use the DMU tool
My oracle version is 188.8.131.52.0
I want to migrate it from WE8MSWIN1252 to AL32UTF8 with no loss of data.
DMU supports from 184.108.40.206.0 and later versions, but I had 220.127.116.11.0 can I migrate using DMU. If so,what about patches do I need a patch for Microsoft windows server 2008.
So what could be the process for migration of character set.
Appreciated for the solution.
