    DBA OCA

    955043
      Hello,
I have given following exams :
      1Z0-047 Oracle Database SQL Expert
      1Z0-147 Program with PL/SQL
I am OCA (Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate).
I have attended both these courses, from Sqlstar International, that is, Oracle Workforce Development Program.
Now I want to know whether these courses accomplishes hands-on requirement towards Oracle11g DBA OCP.

      Thank you in advance.

You haven't named what courses you took. 1Z0-047 and 1Z0-147 are exam names, not course names. You may have taken courses that prepared you for these exams, but they would have had names different from the exam names. The following courses could be considered 'preparation' for those two exams and are valid for the hands-on requirement if taken from an approved vendor.

Oracle Database: Develop PL/SQL Program Units
          Oracle Database: Introduction to SQL
Oracle Database: Introduction to SQL/PLSQL Accelerated
Oracle Database: SQL and PL/SQL Fundamentals
Oracle Database 11g: Introduction to SQL
Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals I
Oracle Database 11g: SQL and PL/SQL Fundamentals
Oracle Database 11g: Develop PL/SQL Program Units

The full list of approved courses is available here: http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=244#4

            Hi matthew_morris,
            I had taken these courses:
Oracle Database 10g: Develop PLSQL Program Units
Oracle Database 10g SQL Fundamentals I
Oracle Database 10g SQL Fundamentals II
Would this fulfill the Hands-on requirement for Oracle 11g DBA OCP?
            I had one more doubt,
as I have taken courses of Oracle 10g,
shall I go for Oracle 10g DBA OCP, and then upgrade it to Oracle 11g
or directly Oracle 11g DBA OCP.

"Oracle Database 10g: Develop PLSQL Program Units" will count towards the 10G DBA certification path. I don't see "Oracle Database 10g SQL Fundamentals I or II" listed on the page at all. If valid, they likely also would count toward the 10G Oracle DBA path but not the 11G. There are no 10G courses listed as approved for the 11G certification.

You could get your 10G DBA OCP and then take the upgrade test 1Z0-050 to upgrade it to 11G. That would likely be less expensive than taking an 11G course and in the end you would be certified in both versions of Oracle.
