Hello,
I have to migrate a C# .Net application from Access database to Oracle because our customer has changed his database.

I don't have any connexion to my customer's database, but I want to be able to tests my application before to give it to the customer.

Can someone tell me how to do to install a test environment ? Does an free-for-testing Oracle database server exists ?

Here is the configuration of the PC I work on :
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500 @ 3.30GHz
8 Go RAM
1 To HD
Win 7 Pro 64 bits SP1

Thank you in advance for your help.

Greetings

Read Windows installation guide for Oracle
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e24186.pdf

very important, set up Microsoft Loopback adapter with STATIC IP
and when installing ORacle have that as the ONLY enabled network device.
That way, Oracle will run on the same static IP no matter what your workstation
gets for IP to get on web, LAN, etc.

You got quite a bit of a learning curve just to get database running.

Then start learning ODP.NET to communicate C# to Oracle from application.

The Oracle DB download on OTN permits free use for the purposes of developing, testing, prototyping and demonstrating your application, just not production use.

Chapter 2 of this book discusses how to install Oracle, though you could figure out the install without it since most of the default selections are made for standard IT environments.
