Could you confirm you downloaded oud r2 and not dsee?
What link are you using for download?
I use V33641-01.zip from edelivery. Here is the print screen:
I chose "Oracle Fusion Middleware" & "Linux x86-64" and "Oracle Fusion Middleware Identity Management 11g R2 Media Pack" (B69737-01) to get OUD zip archive from edelivery.
Thanks for the details.
The compat libs are used by the installer itself, not by (java based) oud.
If you have a support contract, you can open a case to get a relief otherwise we can try to solve the issue via the forum: in the latter case, I would need the following additional info:
RH release details.
List of installed rpm packages
I created virtual machine with 2x4 cores Intel Xeon E5506 @ 2.13 GHz and installed RedHat 6.2 x64 (Linux version 2.6.32-220.el6.x86_64 (firstname.lastname@example.org) (gcc version 4.4.5 20110214 (Red Hat 4.4.5-6) (GCC))). In addition i installed this packages: compat-libstdc++-33.x86_64, cpp.x86_64, elfutils-libeld-devel.x86_64, gcc.x86_64, gcc-c++.x86_64, glibc.i686, glibc-devel.x86_64, glibc-devel.i686, glibc-headers.x86_64, kernel-headers.x86_64, ksh.x86_64, libaio-devel.x86_64, libgcc.i686, libstdc++-devel.x86_64, mpfr.x86_64, ppl.x86_64, unixODBC.x86_64, unixODBC-devel.x86_64.

On platforms capable of running both 32 and 64bits, by default , RH6 only installs 64bits runtime support .However, various applications included the oracle installer also requires the 32-bit runtime support. Therefore, you must install the 32-bit runtime support too, especially for compat-libstdc++.
Btw, the distinction i386 vs i686 is a misleading: the 32-bits version of the compat libs are shown as -i386 or -i686, depending on the RH level. On my test machine, I got -i686
I installed all i686 packages instead i386 packages required by OUD. But OUD still asks for i386 packages and gives error on "Checking recommended operating system packages". I ignored this errors and pressed "continue" button in OUD setup wizard.
Thanks for your help
