Can't access 127.0.0.1:8080/apex  and get the message "Bad Request"

      Hi everyone,

I had Oracle working perfectly fine and was able to connect to 127.0.0.1/apex . After a fresh re-install, I couldn't access the page. I can manage to log into oracle database by using SQL command line. I'm running Oracle 11g express edition.

The message I get when I try accessing the above url is this:

      Bad Request
The HTTP client sent a request that this server could not understand.

I'd appreciate your help sooner than later because I have to get my uni assignment done using oracle db.

      Thank you.

          Why the re-install?

Post output from command: lsnrctl stat

Because I ran a wakanda server if you've heard of it and it uses the same IP address 127.0.0.1:8080 . I thought this what caused the problem.

Yes, likely there will be some sort of "conflict" with two servers/processes trying to listen on the same port number.

You could use netstat command to find e.g. what process is currently owning port number x.

the wakanda server is off now and I try connecting to the oracle server but it isn't working at all. I'm referring to the Apex website. The command line works!

                TCP 127.0.0.1:1044 <hostname>:1045 ESTABLISHED
                TCP 127.0.0.1:1045 <hostname>:1044 ESTABLISHED

Please describe exactly how are you trying to connect and how it is not working.

What happens if you open: http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/f?p=4950
                  or http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/apex

                  What browser are you using?

                  TCP 127.0.0.1:1044 <hostname>:1045 ESTABLISHED
                  TCP 127.0.0.1:1045 <hostname>:1044 ESTABLISHED
Try the following commands, post complete command session, and verify process owning PID in output (rightmost number should be PID):

                  netstat -nao | findstr ":8080"
                  netstat -nao | findstr ":1521"

it is working now in Chrome. Why's chrome letting it work but Firefox doesn't understand the request?

                      Hello,
I am having the same problem. Which command window do I type in lsnrctl stat? Start Database or Run SQl Command Window?

                      Would appreciate the help!

                        On Windows?

Press win key (or click win icon on start menu), type cmd, hit Enter.
