I need to create validation accounts at the HFM end and validation rules at the FDQM end.
I am a beginner in this and do not have an idea on what basis do we select an account to be a validation account.
As per the admin guide " The account used for validation must be an existing account and must have a valid intersection with [ICPTop] in the Custom dimensions”. Because in our current HFM hierarchy we do not have any account tagged as ICPTOP.How to create validation accounts.
FDM can simply pull back a value from an HFM intersection using the validatino rule functionality. You would create a validation rule and in the rule choose to pull back an intersection from HFM. If you use the validation rule builder within the FDM Web interface you can use the second tab to browse for the account in HFM and then use the third tab to test the rule against the entity it will be ran against. This will show you the value it will pull back from HFM.
A) Choose Metadata > Validation Rules
B) Create a new validation rule group and then create a new validation rule
C) Double-Click in the logic filed and choose "Validation Rule Builider" and it will open the rule wizard.
Hope that helps.
The first question i think is what are you trying to validate? If you are using the validation rules in FDQM are you trying to validate a succesful data load from FDM in some way? You need to be careful with regards to validation accounts in HFM (which is where, i supect, you got the information with regards to [ICPTop] as HFM can use validation accounts for a variety of things which are not specifically related to FDM.
If, for instance, you wish to check that a TB load has been correctly / successfully loaded to HFM and results in a "balanced" balance sheet, then you may be able to select existing accounts from your current HFM account hierarchy which would give the result when pulled into FDM.
Have you read the section in the FDM admin guide which provides an example of a data load validation?
