When I created the project and assigned the baseline I clicked the radial button for PF=1/CPI. When I run the report for WBS details it shows the PF being calculated at 0.88. Going back to the WBS earned value tab the radial button PF= blank was filled in with 0.88 but that radial button was not checked. Going to the Admin preferences Earned Value tab the radial button for PF=1/CPI but in the PF=blank again was filled in with 0.88. I have verified that in fact the ETC is being calculated using the 0.88. How do I get the program to calculate the ETC using PF=1/CPI?
You need to check the PF in every WBS element. That is, go into the WBS screen, click on the Earned Value tab and then scroll down your WBSs and look for where it is .88 to change it to PF = 1. Each WBS can have a different PF (a nice feature).
I checked each WBS and the radial button PF=1/CPI is checked. Also the PF=blank has 1.00 in it. Report WB-05 WBS Earned Value Definition List shows the EPS level (Progress Schedules) to have PF=.88 but each project under that has PF=1.00. The EV ETC Technique for the EPS level is Remaining Total Cost but for the projects (BAC-BCWP)/CPI.
Running Report PW-01 WBS Earned Value the project top line shows PV=534,740.94; EV=471,200.90; AC=309,821.76; BAC=2,059,916; ETC=3,778,545.49; EAC=4,088,367.25. I have been trying to figure out how the program has arrived at those numbers.
