there is different disk speed maybe , and if the connection between computer disconnect you are unable to read from disk , include to all this if you are are able to add datafile on other computer what if somebody shutdown that PC ??????????????!!!!!! include to all this performance issue
i am working on oracle 10g windows & all my disks are full and i want to add a datafile on other computer .
how can i do it ?
Why can't you add a new disk to the current machine itself? Anyways, have a read, Creating Control, Data, and Log Files on Remote Computers
To be honest, I didn't expect to find it in the docs Hemant. I would never suggest it to anyone or do it myself but it seems, as someone else has posted already, if the shared storage is from a supported list , one may go ahead and try to use it-on their own risks :) .
