Hi All,

I have one confusion related to RAC data resotre operation. The source environment from where the backup has been taken (using RMAN) is RAC (11.2.0.3.0) and from the log it seems all the files is non-ASM file. When I restore that data into my environment RAC (11.2.0.3.0) in ASM file system I can the see mismatch in data size.

Source data size is : 1.3TB and Taget it occuppied 2.0TB. I don't understand it just becuase of ASM file system I used in my target environment or something else.

The same source data if I restoed into non-RAC environment then it took 1.3TB exactly. Can any one help me to understand why it taking much space with ASM ?

May be my interpretation is wrong so please guide me...

Thanks...
