Hi All,

I have one confusion related to RAC data resotre operation. The source environment from where the backup has been taken (using RMAN) is RAC ( and from the log it seems all the files is non-ASM file. When I restore that data into my environment RAC ( in ASM file system I can the see mismatch in data size.

Source data size is : 1.3TB and Taget it occuppied 2.0TB. I don't understand it just becuase of ASM file system I used in my target environment or something else.

The same source data if I restoed into non-RAC environment then it took 1.3TB exactly. Can any one help me to understand why it taking much space with ASM ?

May be my interpretation is wrong so please guide me...
