    Partitioned Spatial Index

I am doing some testing with a locally partitioned function based spatial index and had an error during the creation process. 6 of the index partitions have a status of failed in the domidx_opstatus so I know I need to rebuild these. The issue I am having is that when I try to query against the other partitions that have a valid status I get an error saying a spatial index is needed. I was under the impression that valid partitions would still be accessible if other partitions were invalid. Does anyne have any insights on this.

I am not entirely sure, but I do know that a partitioned spatial index is used for pruning, if there is a spatial clause in your query (root mbr for every partition is checked), and that spatial pruning cannot be avoided. It may be that this is what is causing the error.

If you can at least post the query, someone might be able to say something mre definitive about this one.
