    Hi,

You copy that one report template.
If you have existing report, you change that to use new template.
And of course you need set JavaScript and dynamic action also to existing page.

    Regards,
    Jari

    Hi,

You report still use "Borderless Report" template.
JavaScript to freeze headers do not work if you do not use report template like in sample application

    Hi,

Check sample application report template "Horz/Vert Scroll (Custom 1)".
You should use that kind template for report.

    Hi,

If you have existing app, you should first create report template like in sample application.
See sample application report template "Horz/Vert Scroll (Custom 1)".
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21674/ui_templt.htm#sthref2284
You can also copy sample application report template to your existing application as I did explain.

Then you change existing report use that new template, add JavaScript to page and create dynamic action.

    Hi Jari,

I have done the following tasks:
    You need go to
    Application Builder > Application 37028 > Shared Components >Templates
    Then press Create button
    Select Report and press Next
Select As a Copy of an Existing Template and press Next.
Follow wizard instructions rest of screens to copy Horz/Vert Scroll (Custom 1) report template from app 68056
I copied all the templates of Horz/Vert Scroll apps.

But I do not know how to change my report to use the new templates.
Then change your report to use new template
Kindly give instruction like above please. I am editing the template now which is "borderless Report" but there is no change button to replace it.

    Thanks again,

    Hi,

To change report templates you should go edit your report attributes.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21674/bldapp_rpt_att.htm#CHDGABID
There is select list "Report Template" where you select template for your report

    Hi Jari,

    Yesss! I made it :D

    check it here:
    In apex.com

    userid: test01
    passwd: abc123
    workspace:dev_ws_10

    This is the target page:

    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=37028:3
I am still confused between templates and Themes. Are they the same? If I change the theme, will it change the template too? I have lots of templates it my apex server. So I only need 1?

    Graciaz....

    Hi,

    Themes consist of templates.
If you change theme, templates definition change and affect to layout.

If you just use one template for e.g. all reports in your app, you can delete not used ones.

    Regards,
    Jari

Thank you very very very much for you patience Jari, I have completed my freeze pane report and able to submit to my boss , and I am getting better now :D . Although I know she has lots of revisions in mind. :(
But after months if I am not using apex often, I will tend to forget what I have done. So I need to bookmark everything here, because search in this forum does not display all of my posts???

Jari - I used your excellent plugin to freeze columns in a classic report and it works like a charm, thanks for putting it together.

Have you tested it with lots of rows? I am finding that it works fast for a handful (less than 50) rows but when the report is displaying, say, 300-500 rows, it is very very slow. I was pretty sure my query was fast (verified using apex_workspace_acvitity_log view), it takes a couple of seconds but the plugin takes almost 30 seconds to do its thing. This is on IE 8.

Is there a way to speed it up? I am not familiar with tools used to profile JS code, where is most of the time being spent?

    Thanks

    Thank you.

I have noticed that there is performance issue when you have more rows in report.
I try look how fix this and let you know.
