    Oracle SecureBackup CLOUD Module on AWS

    KeenOnOracle
      Hi friends.

      I've recently downloaded the oracle securebackup cloud modulo to generate rman backups directly to amazon s3 environment.

      Actually I'm following the instructions present on the file osbws_readme to set it up.

      My scenario is:
      Windows 2008 Server R2 x64
      Oracle Database 11.2.0.3.0

      I got a success result on every step to configure, as you can see below:

      java -jar osbws_install.jar -AWSID xpto -AWSKey xpto -otnUser xx@xx.com -otnPass xpto -walletDir C:\app\Administrador\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\database\osbws_wallet -libDir C:\app\Administrador\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\bin

      AWS credentials are valid.
      S3 user already registered.
      Registration ID: xpto
      S3 Logging Bucket: oracle-log-xpto-on--1
      Validating log bucket location ...
      Validating license file ...

      Create credential oracle.security.client.connect_string1
      OSB web-services wallet created in directory C:\app\Administrador\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\database\osbws_wallet.
      OSB web-services initialization file C:\app\Administrador\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\dbs\osbwsORCL.ora created.
      Downloading OSB Web Services Software Library from file osbws_windows64.zip.
      Downloaded 18532036 bytes in 40 seconds. Transfer rate was 463300 bytes/second.
      Download complete.
      Extracted file C:\app\Administrador\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\BIN\oraosbws12.dll

      OK, its fine. I can see the dll library on that directory.

      Following I configured RMAN as you can see:

      configure channel device type sbt
      parms='SBT_LIBRARY=oraosbws12.dll,SBT_PARMS=(OSB_WS_PFILE=C:\app\Administrador\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\dbs\osbwsORCL.ora)';

      The new parameters are successfully stored.

      Now I type this backup command to test:

      RMAN> backup device type sbt current controlfile;

      RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
      RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
      RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
      RMAN-03009: failure of allocate command on a1 channel at 10/16/2012 16:37:38
      ORA-19554: error allocating device, device type: SBT_TAPE, device name:
      ORA-27211: Failed to load Media Management Library

      I've setup the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID well.

      Do you guys have any tip on recording those backups to Amazon s3?

      tks a lot
