AFAIK Discoverer is a 32-bit application - therefore you will not find 64-bit versions
There is a 64 bit installer inside the Disk1\install\win64 folder
from win64 folder i have run the setup,
installer invoked and after few seconds it is automatically closing.
compatibility also i changed to win7 but no luck
any suggestion please
I have followed the mentioned link but no luck.
I have tried another machine of win 64 bit but result is same.
when i clicked the log file it will shown like this:

Just a thought - perhaps you need to run the Installer as Administrator. Right click on the installer icon and select Run As Administrator.
Did you have any luck with the 64bit install on a the Windows 7 system? I've changed the User Account Control Settings to 'Never Notify' as recommended and I also created the environment variable TNS_ADMIN.
The last thing I've tried is doing the install as an Administrator as Patrick recommended. Nothing happens, I get the Oracle Universal Installer window where it says it's preparing to launch but then the window closes out and nothing else happens.
Any more tips as to what other steps I should take would be really helpful!
Once unzip the software you will see folder like Disk1\install\win32
Inside win32 we need to run the setup, it will works fine.
Better install the software out side of the Program files like C:\oracle

I was able to get the install to run without any hiccups after actually instally directly from the win32 folder. Now I'm having another problem and I'm wondering if you might be of more help?
I launch Oracle Discover Administrator and enter in the Username and Password, when I provide the name of the instance I want to access I receive the following error:
Unable to connect to :username@instance
Failed to connect to database - ORA-12154: TNS:could not
resolve the connect identifier specified
Now, I did go and check to see where my TNSNAMES.ORA file is and I'm pretty sure it's in the right directory - c:\oracle\product\11.1.1\as_1\network\admin.....the provided SQLNET.ORA file is in there as well. Do you have any other suggestions?
Now, after the failed installation attempt yesterday afternoon I did remove the changes that were made to User Account Control Settings and the environment variable TNS_ADMIN that I had previously created. Do I need to put these changes back in?

I was there too. What worked for me in Win7x64 was:
- navigate to disk1\install\win32 (yes! win32, not a mistake)
- right click setup.exe
- set compatibility mode to WinXP SP3
- launch setup.exe
After it is installed you may get surprised with some things but here are further solutions:
1. When trying to launch Desktop or Admin from Windows menu you may reveive message that you have no rights to the file/ the file is in unreachable location. Go to Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\oracle\product\11.1.1\as_1 (or wherever you got it installed) and Windows will ask if you want to have full access to this folder. Ask for this access. There you go.
2. When launching Desktop or Admin from Windows menu you may receive message to say you'd better use REGEDIT to edit Windows Registry. Basically it is a matter of admin rights. Right click Desktop/ Admin shortcuts in Windows Menu and set "Run as administrator". Enjoy!
