I'm using Oracle 10g XE database running on ubuntu 10.10 virtual box. Host computer is also ubuntu 10.10.
CPU is a fully and constantly occupied:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
3443 oracle 20 0 493m 28m 27m R *99.4* 2.0 68:59.53 xe_m000_XE
I cant find what is this xe_m000_XE command!?
During the backup with exp command, virtual box freezes and becomes invisible.. there is no usefully log message for example in alert log file.. also no error message in exp log, backup just stopped on some line. Backup usually stop after a few minutes and crashes the vm box. It must be because of this CPU issue. This happened suddenly, everything worked fine for a long time.
Thanks in advice!
That is a memory manager process, quite a few MOS notes in 10g with contention, sometimes in statistics gathering or other automatic stuff.
Its an internal housekeeping chore, perhaps you're also seeing some trace files in the bdump directory? May be something helpful in the trace files but it will take some digging-
