REDO LOG wrote:NO
I have installed oracle enterprise linux 6.2 on my laptop,
and I installed the database 11gR2 on it, know the user account I used to log in with (os level) is not accessible any more : https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2455346&stqc=true
if I remove the account and recreate it does it will cause problems to the database?
Oracle is oblivious to what occurs at OS level; external to its own processes & operations.
Pl indicate which version of 11gR2 - currently 18.104.22.168 is the only version certified on Linux 6.x - and it can only be downloaded from My Oracle Support by customers paying support - earlier versions may or may not work as advertised
My understand is you can not able to login as a root user in login screen or anything else?
However you created oracle user, is it? i think you may change your oracle password like below
So If you put password here, the root user password was changed not for oracle. If you did it like, try to login as root user with new password what you're given for oracle user.
