    no...
    my oracle folder is /u01
if i copy the dmp in /u01 then i should do this like
    file=/u01/file.dmp
also mention then i need any rights to give on folder.

Yes osama i did this.copy the file into /u01 and then try to imp but this return same error file is failed to opened.
first i created the user and then grants the dba rights.
    steps to imp.
    login as oracle user.
    imp
    user:
    passward
    then file=path

Your posts are inconsistent. At one time you see the file
    cd /mnt/erp
    ls -l this return as

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 232288384 sep date and then name of dmp file that is file.dmp
afterwards you don't see it anymore
    # cd /mnt/erp
    # ls -l | od -c

i past this command but nothing is return....
A file does not disappear by itself.
still my problem is not solved.
If you don't give us consistent information, then we'll not be able to understand what happens.
actually i copy my dmp file into /mnt/erp folder.
And immediately after that what's the result of
    # cd /mnt/erp
    # ls -la

    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 225617920 sep File.dmp
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root oinstall 232208384 sep date File_New_live.dmp

    Hi,
Change the permissions of the dump file till imp job is complete:
    as root user :
    chmod 777 dump-file-name

then run the imp command, once job is completed you can run this as roor:
    chmod 700 dump-file-name.

    Hope this helps.

To do what ? The permissions posted are more than sufficient for oracle user to read the file.

i also do this step to make the oracle is part of dba group as

    chown oracle:dba /mnt/erp/File.dmp
    chmod 775 /mnt/erp/File.dmp

and then log in as oracle user su - oracle
and do the imp but not solved yet...

Well... looks like a very ordinary problem... there is surely more than one solution...

    1. Copy and paste the command directly from vmware to Windows, without writing any files

    2. Write the command into a file, and then transfer the file to Windows (ftp, winscp, ....)

    3. Configure SAMBA on linux, and then share the directory on Windows (this one might be a bit more difficult than other solutions).

Anyway, couldn't you write the command directly here ? (exactly as you did execute it)
