Compiling should not save the file

When I open a file from disk and did some modifications and then compile, The updations are automatically saving to file.
Is there any way to compiling will not perfrom save before compiling?
I have the same question

Not in the procedure editor. We're saving the file on compiles there.
You can force the editor back to the previous version by using the 'Restore from revision' button in the 'History' panel.
If you want to avoid this altogether you can optionally 'compile' your PLSQL from the worksheet. Running statements/scripts from the worksheet doesn't force a save.
You can also request a preference for this behavior in the Procedure Editor via our Exchange
