I want to remove an entry from the cfgadm list.

Brief history:
###############################
I am using a Netra Sparc T4-1.
We are trying to create a procedure to replace the root disk with the machine running.
Removed the old disk *5000cca012c9aa14* and replaced it with a new disk *5000cca012c99be*.
But the old disk is still getting listed in "cfgadm", "echo | format" and "diskinfo -a" outputs.
In diskinfo -a output, the New disk is not getting listed but the Old disk is.
In the "echo|format" output both the disks are getting listed; but the old disk does not have the path but has <DISK NOT FOUND> message.
cfgadm output is printed below (old disk is in unconfigured state).

# cfgadm -al | grep disk
c1::dsk/c1t50080E52499E6000d3 disk connected configured unknown
c1::w50080e52499e6000,0 disk-path connected configured unknown
c1::w50080e52499e6000,1 disk-path connected configured unknown
c3::dsk/c3t50080E5249EC8000d3 disk connected configured unknown
c3::w50080e5249ec8000,0 disk-path connected configured unknown
c3::w50080e5249ec8000,1 disk-path connected configured unknown
c8::w5000cca012c9aa15,0        disk-path    connected    unconfigured unknown
c8::w5000cca012c99be5,0 disk-path connected configured unknown
c9::w5000cca012c4ec8d,0 disk-path connected configured unknown
c10::w5000cca012b4d099,0 disk-path connected configured unknown
c11::w5000cca012d20555,0 disk-path connected configured unknown

Aim:
################################
I wish to see the new disk getting listed in all the above outputs.

Steps tried to remove the old disk from cfgadm list:
################################
# cfgadm -c disconnect c8::w5000cca012c9aa15,0
cfgadm: Hardware specific failure: operation not supported for SCSI device
# cfgadm -x replace_device c8::w5000cca012c9aa15,0
cfgadm: Configuration operation not supported
# cfgadm -x remove_device c8::w5000cca012c9aa15,0
cfgadm: Configuration operation not supported
