I'm trying to install the ADF Mobile extension using JDeveloper version 184.108.40.206.0. I have tried following options -:
1.) Install extension from Official Oracle Extensions and Updates . Help->Check for Updates->select Official Oracle Extensions and Updates->Next ->ADF Mobile ->Next ->Finish->Restart Jdev
2.) Downloaded ADF Mobile extension zip file and saved it in local drive. Then Help->Check for Updates->Install from Local drive.
On restarting the Jdeveloper when i tried to verify the installation, i'm unable to see ADF Mobile framework in the Extensions tab. Plus i do not see ADF Mobile option when i go to create a new application.
I have tried to install the extension atleast 8-9 times still no luck.
Please advice what could be the reason why installation is getting failed.
What is the size of the zip file downloaded? It should be around 160MB.
We had the same issue and the problem was the firewall of the company that did not allow us to download a zip and that is why it failed from the "Check for Updates" section, but we could not see it failing actually. it just downloads a zip of around 2 KB.
Try downloading a proper extension from oracles site: http://download.oracle.com/otn-pub/jdeveloper/220.127.116.11.0/extensions/adf-mobile_bundle.zip
I have tried both options.Installing from Update center as well as from Local file(Downloaded extension zip file). Only doubt i have is that i had a older version of Jdeveloper(18.104.22.168) installed when i had installed new Jdeveloper(22.214.171.124.0) but i had created a new middleware in a new folder than the previous one. Could that be an issue for new version of Jdeveloper(126.96.36.199.0) not being able to install the ADF Mobile Extension.
I have now uninstalled both the jdevelopers and then re-installed Jdeveloper(188.8.131.52.0).Tried installing ADF Mobile extension by following all the steps but still could not see ADF Mobile in the extension tab.
It should work with 2 different versions of JDeveloper at a time. There is no issue until they have different Middleware and JDKs.
I am able to run R1 and R2 versions of JDeveloper together without any issues.
Try setting up the environment on some other machine to see if you can install JDeveloper with Mobile extension. If yes, then reinstall Middleware and JDeveloper properly again.
I tried setting up the environment on some other machine on which Jdeveloper(any version) was never installed.I tried to install the ADF Mobile extension using JDeveloper version 184.108.40.206.0.I tried following options -:
1.)Installed JDeveloper version 220.127.116.11.
2.)Install extension from Official Oracle Extensions and Updates . Help->Check for Updates->select Official Oracle Extensions and Updates->Next ->ADF Mobile ->Next ->Finish->Restart Jdev
Still no luck. I'm unable to see the ADF Mobile in extension tab.
Is there any other method apart from installing from Update center or Install from Local File. Can i directly copy the content of adf-mobile_bundle.zip in the extension folder in Jdev ?
Please advice as i have been strugling to install ADF Mobile extension.
1. Close Jdeveloper 11gR2 if open.
2. Download ADF mobile extension if not downloaded from http://www.oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@otn/documents/webcontent/131167.xml
Unzip adf-mobile_bundle.zip -> navigate to folder adf-mobile_bundle\jdeveloper\jdev\extensions
Copy all files inside "extensions" folder and paste it to Jdeveloper installation folder "oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\jdev\extensions"
Don’t overwrite the existing files.
3. Start Jdeveloper. This time you will find Mobile Application(ADF) under applications categories.
Hi, Himanshu, have you tried to clean up the JDeveloper system directory (on window it's <your user home directory>AppData\Roaming\JDeveloper\system<build number>). Maybe preferences from different versions are interfering?
ADF Mobile extension is just another extension, so perhaps others who have more experiences with installing extensions can help.
1.) while installing the extension - were you prompted to accept the license(*Yes,i had accepted the licence.Clicked on 'Finish' button. Then it asked me to restart Jdeveloper*.)
2.) file->new->general ->applications(*No,I do not see ADF Mobile option under file->new->general ->applications. Once Jdeveloper was restarted,I checked in extension tab.Could not see ADF Mobile Framework*.)
Please suggest an alternative method for installing ADF Mobile extension.
Jugal has suggested copying jar files inside 'adf-mobile_bundle.zip' to Jdeveloper installation folder "oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\jdev\extensions". Could this be an correct alternative for installation of ADF Mobile extension ?
Hi, Himanshu, I am running Windows 7 - are you running a different OS like WinXP?
To get the location, you can go to Help - About - PropertyTab. In the list of properties, look for ide.system.dir entry, and that's where your preferences reside. Try remove it and see what happens (this would delete your previously generated Integrated WLS entry so you are aware).
