As mentioned all the data is physically stored in the database sql server/oracle in tables. However if you want to capture the data and store them in physical files, you will need to export the projects in xer, xml or other supported format based on your requirement. Then you will be able to view them in compatible editors.
Let us know if this is different then what you were looking for.
Considering that I’m working with Windows 7, where is the default physical location of the Primavera data on the hard drive?
The export/import option is quite frustrating and is not a great solution in my point of view. One gets confused which xer file is the most updated! Imagine if we just forget to export our data one time and moved to work on another station!
Your updates are not clear on the requirement. Also no mention of the primavera version and if you are using standalone (PPM) or enterprise version (EPPM).
If export/import is not an option for you then you need to connect to the database to query the data. For that you do not need to know the physical location of Primavera on the hard drive but the database connection to be able to query the data.
This is quite close to what I’m looking for! I need to save everything such that if I switch my current station I can connect my data again to another station “assuming that I’m working all the time in my portable flash or hard drive”
