Hello All,

oracle 11g standard edition 11.2.0.1

In the primary database, the archive log ARC_0000038657_0743783416.0001 was generated and applied to standby database successfully.
But the next archive ARC_0000038658_0743783416.0001 was deleted manually before it is applied.

Now, oracle is showing error as below

ORA-00308: cannot open archived log
'N:\ORACLE\ARC\ARC_0000038658_0743783416.0001'
ORA-27041: unable to open file
OSD-04002: unable to open file
O/S-Error: (OS 2) The system cannot find the file specified.

Also, the archives are being generated as usually, but the apply jobs failed till ARC_0000038886_0743783416.0001

In our system setup, all archived logs will be deleted, the next day after generation, to reduce disk space.

How to recover the standby database?

Do I need to shutdown the primary database, and copy all datafiles, generate standby control file, to recreate standby database.

or

Is it possible to recover the standby database without shutting down the primary database.

Thanks,
Madhu
