    Informatica Service not starting up

    Saro
      Hi friends,

All of a sudden mystery occured that my informatica services in services.msc went down.

If i start the informatica service means, it is starting in services.msc. But after 15 seconds it is again going down in services.msc

Again if i start the service then it is starting and after 15 seconds it is going down again and again. Im not sure with the issue.

Due to that Informatica administrator page is not logging in and also i couldnt connect to any of the informatica clients.

What may be the reason for this.

      Regards,
      Saro

Make sure you have bin folder in the path and also check the event log and catalina.dat to know reasons.

            Hi svee,

Yes i have binfolder in my path in environment variable it seems from the below
            C:\Informatica\9.1.0\clients\tools\datadirect;C:\Informatica\9.1.0\clients\DeveloperClient\bin;C:\Informatica\9.1.0\clients\java\jre\bin\server;C:\app\Administrator\product\11.2.0\client_2\bin;C:\Informatica\9.1.0\java\jre\bin\server;C:\Informatica\9.1.0\tools\datadirect;C:\Informatica\9.1.0\DataTransformation\bin;C:\app\Administrator\product\11.2.0\client_1\bin;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\BIHome\Oracle_BI1\products\Essbase\EssbaseServer\bin;C:\BIHome\Oracle_BI1\bin;C:\BIHome\Oracle_BI1\opmn\bin;C:\BIHome\Oracle_BI1\opmn\lib;C:\BIHome\Oracle_BI1\perl\bin;C:\Informatica\9.1.0\server\bin;C:\orahome\10gR3_1\bifoundation\dac\lib
And also in which path does the event.log file exist. I performed a search in my entire C drive which resulted in a series of event log files. Im not sure which file to check.

Regarding catalina.dat file i couldnt find that file, since i performed my entire C drive.

What might be the reason for this sudden issue svee. Really been frustrated with this.

            Regards,
            Saro

                    Hi svee,

Yes i can find the log file under the tomcat/logs folder

Which identified the issue like "Looping chain of Synonyms"

Have solved that issue too, and now my informatica services is up again. I just followed the below link

                    https://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=4515372_
                    create synonym dual for sys.dual
                    command cleared the issue.

Thanks for your reply once again and your support.
