I searched all the titlles and some of the content and read the note that csscan is being desupported for the current release of 11GR2. Does that mean if we choose to do a migration from US7ASCII to the Unicode AL32UTF8 on the lastest version of Oracle 11R2 and we make a support call concerning using csscan from our 10G database we will/will not be supported?
What is the recommended tool set as far as support is concerned, can we still use csscan or do I need to alert the conversion team that csscan is not to used and DMU should be used in its place.
## csscan is being desupported for the current release of 11GR2
CSSCAN is being desupported starting with the upcoming release, i.e. 12.1. It will no longer be provided with the database. The use of CSSCAN 11.2 or older with RDBMS 12.1 will not be supported.
CSSCAN is supported for all currently supported RDBMS releases and their patch sets and it will be supported for those releases as long as they are supported.
On the other hand, we do recommend the DMU for all migrations (to AL32UTF8) of RDBMS 22.214.171.124 and selected older releases (as documented on the OTN DMU pages).
