    FDM

    cg
      Greetings,
For some reasons, on an manual Import, we no longer get a notification that FDM is done importing, thus FDM continues to show as "Processing". We have to instead rely on the log file to determine if the import has completed. The import takes about 40 mns on any given days. We tried both bulk and sql load, but this did nto help.

Is there anything I can do to ensure that FDM returns a valid status as completed? Many thanks.

Are you accessing FDM through a load balanced URL?

            Thanks for responding.

We have load balancing on the productions erver, but not on the dev server. This issue happens on both environments.

Test the process locally on the server using http://localhost/hyperionFDM.

If you follow the upsappsv.exe process for the workflow does it close and the processing please wait.... is still returned?

I ran the process on the server using localhost as you mentioned. It took half the time, and the "processing pls wait" disapeared. The upsappsv.exe, which I followed from the start, also disapeared from task manager. Any ideas? Thanks.

If it is working locally on the server properly with "localhost", it would indicate a network or load balance server issue.

The next test to run would be to open the Task Manager on the server and then access the FDM page on the workstation as http://<Fdmwebserver>/HyperionFDM and then follow the upsappsv.exe process and see if it disappears and and the Processing Please Wait... is still running.

I would also check through the settings defined in the system Recommendations section of the FDM configuration document. As it appears the process does finish, it might just be that there is perhaps something like a firewall setting preventing the two way DCOM communication.
