Hello, did you solve this problem? i´m having the same!
Nope, i am not oracle guru. Google is full of this problem, need oracle support to take alook on this.
I had the same problem and I could solve it this way :
When the installer crash, click on debug the program, select visual studio for debugging.
Then choose continue in the pop up windows.
Then the installer continue and you can install the ODAC.
it doesn't give me an option to debug the program.
"Java(TM) 2 Platform standard Edition binary has stopped working"
"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a soulutions is available"
and has CLOSE PROGRAM button...thats it.
i had downloaded from here http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/windows/downloads/index-090165.htmlwhy ODAC 10.2.0.3? (it doesnt include ODBC driver according to the homepage)
under 64-bit Oracle 10g Release 2 ODAC 10.2.0.3 for Windows x64
download instant client (50 MB) + ODBC option (1,5MB) from:
extract to same directory, run odbc_install.exe to register the driver, and its done
no extra installation required
Hi Balazs, thanks for your reply.
i have downloaded and extracted
Instant Client Package - Basic: All files required to run OCI, OCCI, and JDBC-OCI applications
instantclient-basic-win-x86-64-10.2.0.3.0.zip (35,861,905 bytes)
*Instant Client Package - ODBC: Additional libraries for enabling ODBC applications
instantclient-odbc-win-x86-64-10.2.0.3.0.zip (744,283 bytes)
into same folder. When I ran odbc_install.exe, i am getting "Could't find Oracle Instant Client in present directory."
Not sure what i am doing wrong.
thanks in advance
are they really in the same directory?
is there any "special" character in the path? (space, underscore, parenthesis, ...)
did you run odbc_install.exe as administrator?
You need at least a debugger, in my case it was my visual studio 2010 that did the job.
Install it and you will have the option when the app crash.
Try to install the 32 bit in your 64 bit os
maybe it work
