    OBIEE webservice issue

      Hi All,

      I am calling getHtmlforPageWithOneReport method of HtmlViewService

      I am passing the following to the method

      1. An arbitrary string as reportid because I believe that this id gets a handle to the html response and can be used for any future reference
      2. The path of my report including my report name as reportPath
      3. A valid OBIEE session id

      I am able to get the following response from OBIEE

      <script type="text/javascript" src="http://localhost:7001/analytics-ws/res/b_mozilla/browserdom.js"></script>
      <script type="text/javascript">
      try{saw.doFrameBust(1);function sawC2U(s){return "http://localhost:7001/analytics-ws/saw.dll?__xyz__".replace("__xyz__",s);}
      function sawP2U(s){return "http://localhost:7001/analytics-ws/saw.dll/__xyz__".replace("__xyz__",s);}
      var sawEmptyHtm="http://localhost:7001/analytics-ws/res/empty.htm";
      var obips_fmapId="JSWUww";var obips_scid="dgYTiYErNaczYaKqOTh-";
      var obips_maxStylesheets=100;
      var g_LocaleInfo={sDateSeparator:"/",sTimeSeparator:":",sDecimalPoint:".",sThousandsSeparator:",",sAM:"AM",sPM:"PM",b24:false,sDateOrder:"mdy",nFDOW:6,nYearPadding:4,nMonthPadding:2,nDayPadding:2,nHourPadding:2,sListSeparator:",",sNegativeNumberTemplate:"-#"};
      var obips_seeded_res = [{p:"styleproperties.res",v:{exprs:{"dialogHelpPosition":"footer","shuttleButtonSpace":"false","shuttleButtonLabel":"true","shuttleTableCellSpace":"0","menubarSeparator":"true","pageShadowBackground":"false","headerRightBorder":"false","pageBorderBottomRequired":"false","tabBarStartCellWidth":"10px"}}}];
      }catch(e){if (window.console && console.error) console.error('Header script error:' + e.message);}</script>
      <script type="text/javascript" src="http://localhost:7001/analytics-ws/res/b_mozilla/common/obips.ImportMeFirst.js"></script>
      <script type="text/javascript" src="http://localhost:7001/analytics-ws/res/b_mozilla/common.js"></script>

      <script type="text/javascript" src="http://localhost:7001/analytics-ws/res/b_mozilla/common/ajax.js"></script>
      <script type="text/javascript" src="http://localhost:7001/analytics-ws/res/b_mozilla/common/ondemandload.js"></script>
      <div id="Rep2" Effective_Rep2_ReportObj_ID="Rep2_ReportObj" >
      <img class="SrchImg" border=0 src="http://localhost:7001/analytics-ws/res/s_blafp/views/searching.gif" alt=""></div>
      <SCRIPT type="text/javascript">
      try{Rep2_ReportObj = new saw.ondemandload.EmbededReport('Rep2');
      var reportObject = Rep2_ReportObj;
      reportObject.show(); }
      catch(e){if (window.console && console.error) console.error('Load embedded report error:' + e.message);}

      Unfortunately, this response does not have the analysis in it. My browser javascript is turned on

      Any help is welcome.

            Hi Veeravalli,

            I respect your seniority but I dont think any of the links given by you come even closer to helping me. One of the link points out the same issue that I have and that thread has not been answered. I have checked everywhere on google so I had gone through these links before

            Thnaking you in anticipation of more specific help

              Any thoughts, anyone?
              • 4. Re: OBIEE webservice issue
                with thousands of bugs, worst kind of documentation, no centralized location for config files or log files, I am convinced that OBIEE fusion middleware can be branded as the most sub standard product of all times.

                Has anyone ever gone through the nightmare of using the HTMLView service of OBIEE11G? I have and the only feeling I have is to throw my machine in the dustbin.

                If anyone has ever successfully used this then please share your process. Thanking you in anticipation of your help

                  Any further updates or progress on this ? Am also struck in same boat.
                  • 6. Re: OBIEE webservice issue

                    I know what it feels trying to get the simplest examples using HtmlView service to work.

                    I created an SR with Oracle a while ago and it's now with Oracle development. It seems there are a couple of bugs in OBIEE 11g.

                    All blogs I have come across that managed to use this SOAP service successfully used OBIEE 10g.

                    If using 10g is not an option, I am affraid you are going to have to wait till Oracle releases a patch that includes the fix for this bug.

                    To stat with, you may have noticed that the code generated is wrong. The line below is wrong

                    <img class="SrchImg" border=0 src="http://localhost:7001/analytics-ws/res/s_blafp/views/searching.gif" alt="">

                    the path for the serching.gif file is not correct, instead it should have generated this ("analytics" instead of "analytics-ws")

                    <img class="SrchImg" border=0 src="http://localhost:7001/analytics/res/s_blafp/views/searching.gif" alt="">

                    infact any accourrence of "analytics-ws" in the any url found in the html code generated is not correct.

                    You might be able to find a workaround yourself, in which case, please post the soution in this forum.

                    Good luck
