We have a meta data field of type option list populated through schema view. The view contains long list of people (more than 1000) due to which it takes long to load the values.
Want to know is there a way this can be handled like:
Option 1 : Populate only top 10 records and load more if user says load more
Option 2: As soon as user key press the name it loads all user names starting with that character
Or if there is a better way to handle this situation
Thanks in advance.
An example of implementing autocomplete (option number 2) can be found here: http://bungbutan.wordpress.com/2012/08/31/oracle-webcenter-content-metadata-suggestion-list-using-jquery/
Thanks for the help Jonathan. Option 2 may fail one of the validation, we are not forcing the user to choose one of the options appearing from the list. A user may have the option not to select any of the option and move forward. In a nutshell we have validation that selected person should be a valid person name. Can this be achieved from this option list?
