Well… not bad in general, since there has to be some way to ensure the cluster's health. It's the same why a kernel panic is not necessarily is a bad thing - it prevents something bad from happening in the first place.
It would be really bad, if the cluster would go on and damage your files, wouldn't it? If you want to utilize a clustered environment, than you'd be better prepared to first understand how this particular beast works…
