    v$object_usage

      Hello!

      could You please explain how many rows created (replaced ?) und stored in v$object_usage on each fact of index scan?
      I'm usung 11.2 version of database server

          SQL> select count(*) from  v$object_usage;
          
            COUNT(*)
          ----------
                   0
          
          SQL> show user
          USER is "SYS"
          SQL>

                What is the default/expected content of v$object_usage?

                  [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e25513/dynviews_2079.htm#REFRN30162]V$OBJECT_USAGE  is saying "statistics about index usage..." How it collects the index usage? It just collects the statistics of those index use who have enabled index monitoring i.e. ALTER INDEX index MONITORING USAGE; Now, on each use of index Oracle will populate this view. It just shows the name of those indexes whose index monitoring is enabled. On each index monitoring Oracle adds a new line in this view. It does not tells that how many time a specific index has been used i.e. it is not a counter of use of index.
