    yes now connected to idle instance but this error is coming

    C:\Users\Rajiv>sqlplus / as sysdba

    SQL> startup
    ORA-00119: invalid specification for system parameter LOCAL_LISTENER
    ORA-00132: syntax error or unresolved network name 'LISTENER_ORCL'

    Oh God what you do with your database

    No do the following :

    open cmd
    sqlplus / as sysdba
    create pfile = 'c:\test.ora' from spfile ;

    modify test.ora by open it on notepad.exe and look for LOCAL_LISTENER parameter and remove everything inside '' its must be like this
    LOCAL_LISTENER=''

    Then

    shutdown immediate ;
    startup pfile='c:\test.ora';
    create spfile from pfile

    I hope we r nearby now.

    I followed these steps....some are not successful:

    SQL> create pfile='c:\test.ora' from spfile;

    File created.

    SQL> shutdown immediate;
    ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
    ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
    SQL> startup pfile='c:\test.ora';
    ORACLE instance started.

    Total System Global Area 2538741760 bytes
    Fixed Size 2178416 bytes
    Variable Size 1409286800 bytes
    Database Buffers 1107296256 bytes
    Redo Buffers 19980288 bytes
    Database mounted.
    Database opened.
    SQL> create spfile from pfile;
    create spfile from pfile
    *
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
    LRM-00109: could not open parameter file
    'D:\APP\RAJIV\PRODUCT\11.2.0\DBHOME_1\DATABASE\INITORCL.ORA'

    After doing this strange thing happening

    connecting through CMD by using only username and pwd i.e. Username/password not with this username/password@orcl

    not connecting with Sql*plus

    yES, i did this and now file created in my dbhome\database\spfileorcl

    but problem still same. connecting using uid/pwd but not with "orcl" host string

    Now recreate your Listener Using netca Delete old one and create new one .

    Aftre this COPY & PASTE lsnrctl status

    you database instance is register now with your listener you must be able to connect regarding to your tnsnames.ora
    sqlplus username/password@ORCL not orcl.
