I have MacBook Pro with operating system "Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5". If anybody know then please let me know how to install Oracle 10g or any newer version on it.
http://otn.oracle.com has preconfigured VM that includes installed Oracle DB
Is there any other way through which we can install Oracle directly on "Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5"? If I install VM VirtualBox then it will be a kind of different operating system which I do not want.
MAC OS X is not a supported OS
Oracle 10gR2 under Mac OSX 10.5 Leopard for Intel is the last supported version. The oracle installation is linking the oracle binaries, which will not work under any later system releases. Any work-arounds out there, e.g. copying oracle binaries linked under the a previous OS work to some extend under 10.6, but nothing later. Forget about it under 10.7. Your only feasible solution is to use a VM product like VMware, Parallels or Oracle free Virtualbox. I suggest to use Oracle Linux, which is also free.
So, can I install Oracle Linux on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5? Please share if you have any appropriate link to download Oracle Linux and related manual.1. Please search as in google how you can install wmware on mac.Preview:
2. Download from OEL linux from edelivery which is free
3. Install linux on your vmmachine
4. Download 11g release from otn
5. Install it on your vmmachine
