Hi Wendy Tromp,
After redeployment,Stop the Managed Server.
Go to Domain directory/servers/
Rename the managed_server_name directory to managed_server_name_20112012(This is for backup as well we are clearing the cache)
Then Start the managed server.
Once the services are started,You will see that Inside Domain directory/servers/ a new folder managed_server_name will again be created.
Now check your applications,New changes should be reflected.
So what you are saying that the cache needs to be cleared. I am never going to get our sysadmin to do what you described. Is this the only way?
You can give a try by undeploying and redeploying the applications.
That does help indeed. This is also what I instructed the sysadmin to do now. Still, it's dumb that WLS doesn't give any warning when you redeploy with the same version.
You usually get a alert when u deploy ur application from front end and hit the Activate button
All changes have been activated. No restarts are necessary.
Sure, we get that message. It makes us think everything went the way we wanted it to.
Unfortunately it didn't because users are still getting the old application and not the new one. See my point?
