I guess you need to findout where the primary database located ?
SQL> show parameter FAL_SERVER
FAL_SERVER returns a name and check the tnsnames.ora file for that name.
FAL_SERVER specifies the FAL (fetch archive log) server for a standby database. The value is an Oracle Net service name, which is assumed to be configured properly on the standby database system to point to the desired FAL server.
If you mean to find Which One Primary Database Or Standby Use
SQL > select database_role from v$database; DATABASE_ROLE —————- PRIMARY
If you want to know instance name for database
SQL > select database_role from v$database; DATABASE_ROLE —————- PHYSICAL STANDBY
show parameter name select name from v$database ;
