Hi to all
I'm doing a upgrade from 9i to 11g and i am using native imp/exp to migrate those data.. I have exported the schemas from 9i into a dmp file and i am goiing to export them into 11g. 11g database is a new database with no existing schemas..
My newbie question is "Do I have to manually create those exact schema in 11g and their tables before importing data?" If so, there are numerous schemas and objects for me to create.. one by one.. This is the tedious problem i face..
Is there any work around for this? Thanks.
Old exp/imp does not create users unless you do a 'full' export (from 10g impdp/expdp will do this for schema level exports). You'll have to pre-create all the users if you exported them as a list of schemas. Is it possible to do the export as 'full'?
Thanks.. I am doing a full export now.. Saw a similar question posted in asktom on "How To FULL DB EXPORT/IMPORT" (http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:1463976400346989259)
