I have pressed enter numerous times, still no luck. The host is powered on. I can ssh to the server and work on it.
I cannot work on any of the newly installed servers via this method. Just as a test I connected to an M5000 on the same network and I could successfully connect to the OS via XSCF.

/SP/console can work only at text mode, but when solaris start on x86 systems use graphics mode for output.
So you can use only WEB interface for redirections.
On support.oracle.com doc: ID 1325578.1 describe step by step procedure for
"Sun x64 Servers: How to change OS console login to output through ILOM's start /SP/console"
It just need run command "eeprom console=ttya" and reboot you system.
But after this you can't use general keyboard and monitor as console. Only /SP/console.
You don't need to reboot.
That puts the console into pure text mode.
svcadm disable svc:/application/graphical-login/cde-login:default
If you can't do that (SunRay server, for example), edit /etc/dt/config/Xservers to remove the Xserver on display 0. (Xservers.SUNWut.prototype for a SunRay server).
Then restart the cde-login service. (Which on a SunRay server will kick everyone off logged in to that server via SunRay, unfortunately)
