you are trying to restore the database to the date Aug 08, but you cannot restore your database older than Oct 15....so until time clause should always be more than Oct 15......

another option is set the incarnation to old incarnation and try using until time accordingly

    Hi,
You need to tell rman to use an old incarnation of the database - see example here:

    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/backup.111/b28273/rcmsynta036.htm

    Cheers,
    Harry

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

    Even if i try incarnation 1(19-SEP-12) and 2( 19-SEP-12) ,won't work.Right?

Is it possible to restore that backup?

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

Refresh the db from production to test, whether Date should be matched or not.
If the test date is less than production, can we restore it?
If the test date is more than production, can we restore it?

    Thanks & Regards,
    VN
